Fakeeh Health said in a statement that the National Institute for Health Specialties awarded it institutional accreditation for residency training, covering Fakeeh University Hospital and its associated medical centers. Dr. Mohammed Al Houqani, secretary general of the NIHS, presented the certificate to Dr. Mazen Fakeeh, the group’s chairman, during a ceremony that underscored the provider’s adherence to national postgraduate medical education requirements. The milestone follows the prior accreditation of the organization’s medical internship program and positions Fakeeh Health as an approved institution for structured specialist training in the country.
The NIHS serves as the UAE’s regulatory body for postgraduate medical education and residency programs, according to the company’s announcement. Accreditation confirms that an institution satisfies criteria across educational governance, faculty development, resident wellbeing, patient safety protocols and competency-based curricula. The evaluation process also examined research integration, simulation training capabilities and the overall clinical learning environment at Fakeeh facilities.

Since initiating postgraduate programs in partnership with the Dubai Health Authority in 2021, the organization has trained more than 600 undergraduate healthcare students each year through residency, internship and clinical placements, the statement indicated. Trainees receive exposure to primary, secondary and tertiary care across the network’s hospitals and centers, fostering multidisciplinary skills in a patient-focused setting. The development contributes to national objectives of cultivating a self-sustaining healthcare workforce and elevating Dubai’s role in regional medical education.
