Flydubai said the additional daily service will lift its weekly operations to Thailand to 21 flights all serving Don Mueang International Airport from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport. The increase follows the start of once-daily flights on July 1 and comes during the peak summer travel season when demand has exceeded expectations. According to the carrier the decision reflects sustained uptake from leisure and business travellers alike.
Sudhir Sreedharan Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at flydubai said “Just weeks after welcoming Bangkok as our latest destination we are pleased to build on the strong demand for this route by introducing a second daily flight from Dubai.” He noted that the extra frequency offers passengers greater flexibility and more travel options. Sreedharan added that the step reinforces the airline’s commitment to enhancing connectivity while supporting Dubai’s position as a leading international aviation hub.
The expanded Bangkok services operate under the codeshare partnership with Emirates enabling single-ticket purchases through baggage check-in and access to a combined network of more than 240 destinations worldwide flydubai said. This collaboration has strengthened links between the UAE and Southeast Asia in recent years. The airline’s statement highlighted how the arrangement benefits travellers seeking seamless itineraries.
According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand more than 600000 GCC travellers are expected to visit the kingdom by the end of 2026 including over 150000 from the UAE. The authority’s governor stated that weekly flights between the UAE and Thailand will rise to around 140 as carriers expand capacity. TAT data places average spending by UAE visitors above 100000 Thai baht per trip with stays typically ranging from three to 10 weeks focused on wellness and luxury segments.
Thailand recorded 10.83 million international tourist arrivals through mid-April 2026 a 3.34 percent decline from the prior year Ministry of Tourism and Sports figures show. The Tourism Authority of Thailand has adjusted its full-year 2026 forecast to between 30 million and 34 million visitors citing regional tensions and other headwinds. Beyond Thailand flydubai recently inaugurated flights to Benghazi in Libya the carrier reported. Services to Aleppo in Syria are scheduled to commence on July 20 while Pokhara in Nepal will join the network on Sept. 23. These launches form part of a wider effort to diversify the airline’s footprint across emerging destinations.
