Qatar Real Estate Trading Hits QAR 377 Million | AI-Generated Image

Qatar News Agency reported on August 13 that the volume of real estate trading in sale contracts registered with the Real Estate Registration Department at the Ministry of Justice from August 2 to 6 reached QAR 353,406,706. The total sales contracts for residential units in the Real Estate Bulletin for the same period added QAR 23,813,514. This brought the combined trading value for the week to QAR 377.22 million. The prior week between July 26 and 30 had seen transactions exceed QAR 400 million, the department’s data showed.

The list of real estate properties traded included vacant land, residences, commercial shops, a hotel and residential units, according to the weekly bulletin. Sales activity concentrated in the municipalities of Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, Al Daayen, Umm Salal, Al Khor, Al Thakhira and Al Shamal. Transactions also took place in the areas of Al Kharaej, Lusail 69, The Pearl and Legtaifiya. These locations reflect a broad distribution of real estate deals across urban and developing zones of Qatar.

Mordor Intelligence estimated the Qatar residential real estate market size at USD 14.36 billion in 2026, forecasting an increase to USD 19.93 billion by 2031 with a compound annual growth rate of 6.78 percent. The report stated that demand is anchored by post-World Cup infrastructure, liberalized foreign-ownership rules and a permanent-residency-for-investment program that links property purchases above QAR 730,000 to long-term visas. It added that rising tourism, government-backed mortgages for nationals and the forthcoming 2030 Asian Games further reinforce owner-occupier and rental demand.

According to data compiled by Global Property Guide from the Ministry of Justice, total real estate sales transactions reached QAR 9.2 billion in the first quarter of 2026, a rise of 28.5 percent from the year-earlier period. The Peninsula Qatar reported that March 2026 property transaction values totalled QAR 768.2 million across 226 deals. June 2026 saw QAR 1.69 billion in transactions over 541 deals, market updates indicated.

Oversupply in mid-tier apartments and higher building-material costs continue to pressure yields and margins, Mordor Intelligence found. Developers have increasingly targeted premium villas, mixed-use megaprojects and technology-driven sales channels to address these conditions. The residential segment dominates the real estate market, with apartments holding a leading share while villas and landed houses are projected to expand at a 7.36 percent compound annual growth rate through 2030.
