The Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry has introduced the RAK Ambassador initiative to strengthen the emirate’s standing as a premier destination for tourism and investment. According to a statement from the chamber, the programme calls on UAE citizens and residents to leverage their personal networks by inviting relatives and friends from abroad to experience Ras Al Khaimah firsthand. The campaign, which the chamber described as the first of its kind in the emirate, will operate from August 19 to October 31, with hosts aged 18 and above able to register multiple guests arriving on tourist visas or visa on arrival.
Guests recruited through the initiative will receive an array of incentives designed to enrich their stay and encourage longer visits and higher spending. The chamber’s announcement listed highly discounted hotel accommodations, tickets to prominent tourist attractions, and special offers at restaurants and cafes among the benefits. Additional perks include deals on marine activities, safari tours, luxury car rentals and exclusive shopping discounts at Al Manar Mall, all intended to support local hospitality and commercial sectors.
Dr. Rashid Khalfan Al Nuaimi, director general of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the RAK Ambassador programme represents an advanced model of partnership between the public and private sectors. Al Nuaimi emphasised the chamber’s focus on community engagement to drive economic development through higher tourism activity, increased visitor expenditure and stronger performance in hospitality and commerce. The initiative aligns directly with Ras Al Khaimah Vision 2030, which seeks to establish the emirate among the world’s top destinations for living, working, investing and visiting, a chamber assessment found.
Earlier this year the chamber approved a five-year strategy for 2026-2030 that prioritises improvements to the business environment and the attraction of foreign investment. A board meeting chaired by Mohamed Mosbeh Al Nuaimi endorsed the plan, which was developed by the Department of Strategy and Digital Economy to position Ras Al Khaimah as a regional hub for tourism, industry, trade and digital services. The strategy includes measures to support local companies’ international expansion, streamline procedures, enhance governance and foster innovation among startups, according to the chamber.
Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority figures show the emirate welcomed a record 1.35 million overnight visitors in 2025, marking a 6 per cent increase from the previous year alongside 12 per cent growth in tourism revenues. In the first half of 2026 alone more than 670,000 visitors arrived, with domestic tourism surging 47 per cent year on year despite regional challenges, the authority reported. The ambassador programme arrives as the emirate pursues a Vision 2030 target of 3.5 million annual visitors, an objective that has guided infrastructure investments and product development across mountain, desert and coastal experiences, according to the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority.
The chamber plays a pivotal role in settling commercial disputes through mediation and arbitration while representing the emirate at international forums, organising exhibitions and coordinating trade delegations. Al Nuaimi told board members that the new strategy would harmonise with broader UAE development plans and reinforce Ras Al Khaimah’s reputation as a centre for investment, trade and the digital economy. Adoption of the plan underscores the chamber’s dedication to national priorities and the directives of Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, with emphasis on innovation, sustainability and global competitiveness.
