The Qatar Stock Exchange disclosed the findings of its September 2026 quarterly index review on Wednesday, revealing that the current selections for all major benchmarks would stay the same. According to a statement issued by the exchange, the committee found no need to adjust the lists for the QE Index, the QE Al Rayan Islamic Index or the QE All Share Index and its associated sectors. This decision means the indices will continue with their existing components when the review period concludes on September 1, 2026.

Qatar Stock Exchange figures show that the QE Index represents the 20 largest and most liquid stocks traded on the bourse. The review process evaluates metrics including average daily trading volume, market capitalization and free float to decide on inclusions and exclusions. A QSE overview noted that such rebalancing occurs at set intervals to keep the indices aligned with market realities.

Recent market activity has seen the QE Index trading near 9,826 points, reflecting a daily drop of 0.45 percent as of August 18. Trading Economics data places the yearly decline for the benchmark at nearly 14 percent amid broader economic considerations. The index reached an all-time high above 14,900 points in 2022, according to historical records maintained by the platform.

The QE Al Rayan Islamic Index, which screens for Sharia compliance, also retained its lineup in the assessment. In addition, the comprehensive All Share measure, covering every listed security, saw no shifts in its composition or sector weightings. This stability across the board suggests that the existing market leaders maintained their qualifying criteria during the evaluation period.

With 51 companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange, the domestic market capitalization stands at more than 200 billion U.S. dollars, according to SSE Initiative statistics. The quarterly reviews form a key part of the exchange’s governance to ensure transparency and accuracy in performance tracking. Officials at the QSE have consistently highlighted the importance of these periodic checks in supporting investor confidence.

The announcement arrives as the QSE continues to develop its market infrastructure and attract greater foreign investment flows. Previous quarterly reviews, such as the one completed in June 2026, have at times introduced changes to reflect evolving corporate standings. Yet for September, the committee opted to preserve the status quo across all tracked indices.
