The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange Group announced that its latest market statistics demonstrate the prominent position of national female investors. As of the end of July 2026, Emirati women held shares worth approximately Dh39 billion. This figure accounts for the vast majority of holdings by all female investors on the exchange, the group said in a statement distributed by WAM.
The data was unveiled during a bell-ringing ceremony hosted by the ADX to commemorate Emirati Women’s Day for the first time as a month-long celebration. The event welcomed mothers and grandmothers of female employees to the trading floor and aligned with the UAE Year of Family initiative. It underscored the role of financial literacy in building generational wealth and supporting economic diversification goals.
In an announcement carried by WAM, Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi, Group Chief Executive Officer of ADX Group, said, “Emirati women continue to advance our economy with exceptional resilience, determination, and ambition. Their ability to drive innovation while nurturing families is a powerful reflection of their dedication. As a dynamic, multi-asset exchange, ADX is building the infrastructure and access that allow this leadership to compound, both among the investors who trade on our platform and the 40 percent of our own workforce who are women shaping how this exchange operates. Our task now is to ensure the next generation of Emirati women inherits a robust and thriving market that is built with their leadership, financial knowledge and empowerment.” The remarks came as the exchange reported women make up 40 percent of its workforce.
Internally the ADX has implemented structured career development programs for its female professionals across all organizational levels. These initiatives demonstrate a consistent approach to fostering women in leadership roles within the organization. The exchange maintained its focus on infrastructure upgrades including new subsidiaries and cloud capabilities during the first half of 2026.
An earlier announcement by the ADX showed that in 2024 Emirati women accounted for 91 percent of female holdings valued at Dh30 billion out of a total Dh33 billion in female share value. The latest increase to Dh39 billion and 94 percent reflects rising participation levels among national women. The ADX added more than 30,000 new investors in the first half of 2026 while its market capitalization reached AED2.8 trillion.
Data published by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation revealed that Emirati women formed 94.1 percent of all Emiratis working in private sector education roles in 2025.
Women represented 91.2 percent of Emirati private sector healthcare professionals that year. Emirati women further occupied 54.9 percent of leadership positions held by nationals in the private sector.
