Khazna Data Centres and Siemens have established a technical partnership through a memorandum of understanding signed on September 15, 2026, at the UAE-Germany Business Forum in Munich, with the aim of advancing the infrastructure needed to support rapidly evolving artificial intelligence workloads. The agreement, announced through Emirates News Agency, outlines collaboration across several fronts to prepare data centre ecosystems for future demands driven by exponential growth in AI computing. It focuses on developing strategies that address the unique requirements of high-density AI environments while leveraging combined expertise in engineering and digital optimisation.

The partnership will examine emerging technology trends and their implications for the design and operation of future facilities, according to the joint announcement. Specific areas include AI-ready infrastructure strategy, technology testing, next-generation power architectures and engineering talent development. These elements form a framework intended to strengthen the overall AI infrastructure ecosystem as computational needs continue to intensify.

Central to the collaboration is the exploration of digital twin technology for AI data centres, which the companies said would enhance capabilities to model, understand and optimise increasingly complex infrastructure environments. Siemens will contribute its established expertise spanning simulation, design validation, system integration, commissioning and operational optimisation. This approach builds on digital twin applications that a Boston Consulting Group assessment identified as critical for managing the projected rise in global data centre power demand to 198 gigawatts by 2030.

The two organisations will also advance next-generation 800-volt direct current power architectures and evaluate their suitability for AI data centres, where energy efficiency has become a defining factor. Such innovations align with broader industry shifts toward sustainable high-performance computing, particularly in markets experiencing rapid hyperscale expansion. Khazna Data Centres, recognised as a leader in critical AI infrastructure, operates facilities that support demanding workloads while emphasising energy optimisation across its network.

VynZ Research projections indicate the UAE AI data centre market, valued at approximately $3.44 billion in 2025, will expand to $4.18 billion in 2026 and reach $27.85 billion by 2035, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of 23.4 percent. This trajectory underscores the strategic importance of partnerships like the one between Khazna and Siemens in positioning the UAE as a regional hub for AI infrastructure. Government-backed initiatives and investments in sovereign AI capabilities have accelerated demand for specialised facilities capable of handling machine learning and large language model training.

A separate data centre digital twin market analysis placed its value at $20.19 billion in 2024 with forecasts reaching $396.62 billion by 2033 at a 39.2 percent compound annual growth rate, highlighting the technology’s rising prominence. Siemens has integrated its platforms with real-time building management systems to enable physics-accurate modelling of cooling, power and other subsystems. The current memorandum extends this capability specifically toward AI-driven environments where predictive optimisation can reduce operational risks and improve efficiency.

Khazna Data Centres has pursued international expansion with projects spanning Europe and the Middle East, including a planned 500-megawatt AI campus in Italy developed in partnership with Eni. The company’s focus on hyperscale digital infrastructure complements Siemens’ industrial technology portfolio, creating potential for integrated solutions that address both computational scale and operational resilience.
