The Gasoline and Diesel Prices Follow-up Committee approved the fuel prices for October 2026 under the UAE’s monthly pricing mechanism which reflects global energy price movements while meeting local market needs according to Emirates News Agency. Super 98 petrol will cost AED4.40 per litre compared with AED3.80 the previous month. Special 95 rises to AED4.28 per litre from AED3.69 while E-Plus 91 increases to AED4.21 from AED3.61. Diesel advances to AED4.80 per litre from AED4.30 in September.

Emirates News Agency reported that the new rates take effect from October 1 across the country’s fuel stations. The committee’s decision follows a pattern of adjustments seen throughout 2026 with prices having edged higher in August and September after a drop in July. Khaleej Times noted that the Ministry of Energy approves the figures each month based on average global oil prices plus distribution companies’ operating costs.

A full tank will cost drivers between AED30.09 and AED44.40 more than in September depending on vehicle size and fuel type according to calculations published by Khaleej Times. Compact cars with 51-litre tanks will pay AED224.40 for super 98 in October versus AED193.80 previously. Sedan drivers filling 62-litre tanks face AED272.80 for the same grade up from AED235.60 while SUV owners with 74-litre capacity will see costs reach AED325.60 from AED281.20.

The pricing framework has guided retail fuel costs since its introduction more than a decade ago aligning domestic rates with international benchmarks. Gulf News reported that the committee reviews prevailing trends in global energy markets at the close of each month before publishing the following month’s figures. Data compiled by fares.net shows October 2026 prices represent the highest monthly levels so far this year across all four categories.

Earlier in 2026 the same committee had set markedly lower rates with March figures for special 95 at AED2.48 per litre according to historical records published by fares.net. The latest increases come as global oil prices have risen in recent weeks influencing the formula used by the follow-up group. Motorists can expect the higher costs to remain fixed throughout October until the next monthly announcement at the end of the month.
