e& Money and Visa detailed their new partnership in a joint statement that will integrate Visa’s payment network into the e& Money app for cross-border transfers. The collaboration enables near real-time sending and receiving of funds to eligible cards, bank accounts and digital wallets in multiple destinations. The companies noted that the initiative targets customers in the UAE with plans for broader regional rollout. e& Money has built its service as a comprehensive digital financial tool since its initial launch as a licensed e-wallet by the Central Bank of the UAE.

According to World Bank data, global remittances exceeded $800 billion in 2025 with the UAE ranking among the top sending countries due to its large expatriate workforce. The partnership with Visa will add to e& Money’s existing remittance options that already connect to networks in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Visa’s infrastructure spans more than 200 countries and territories, a fact the companies highlighted in their announcement as key to expanding user choice.

A 2022 statement from e& described how its earlier tie-up with MoneyGram provided wallet-to-wallet transfers to over 160 million customers across 16 markets including the UAE, Egypt, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The latest agreement with Visa builds on that foundation by focusing on card-based and account-based transfers that complement those wallet services. Central Bank of the UAE figures have shown steady growth in licensed digital payment providers as consumer adoption of contactless and mobile solutions increased following the COVID-19 pandemic.

PwC Middle East assessments of the GCC fintech sector have projected digital payments to register annual growth rates above 12 percent through 2030 driven by regulatory reforms and consumer demand for faster remittances. The e& Money platform, rebranded under the e& group formerly known as Etisalat, has positioned itself as a super app offering payments, transfers and bill settlements in one interface. Both companies stated that the Visa integration will enhance security features and reduce friction in international transactions for users who rely on remittances to support families abroad.

The joint statement indicated that technical integration is complete with pilot testing already underway among select e& Money users in the UAE. Visa has reported more than 50 percent year-over-year growth in its Direct platform transactions across Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman in recent quarterly data. Further expansion of supported corridors under the partnership will depend on regulatory approvals in destination markets, according to the companies.
