The Qatar News Agency reported that Youssef Al-Maraghi, head of private banking services at Qatar International Islamic Bank, received the Best Islamic Wholesale Banking Solutions Award on the bank’s behalf. The presentation took place at the 16th annual GIFA Awards Ceremony held in the British capital. Al-Maraghi’s participation reflected the bank’s strong standing among international Islamic finance leaders.
According to the Qatar News Agency, the GIFA judging panel selected Qatar International Islamic Bank after a detailed review of its institutional performance, the quality of its corporate financing portfolio and the efficiency of services provided to the business sector. The assessment also considered the bank’s overall financial indicators along with its capacity for innovation and adaptation to evolving market needs. This recognition affirms the bank’s success in addressing corporate client requirements in line with top global banking standards.
Al-Maraghi said, “Obtaining the Best Islamic Wholesale Banking Solutions Award for 2026 from a prestigious global platform like GIFA is a source of pride and a renewed international certificate of the advanced position that the bank has reached thanks to its integrated strategy and its ambitious vision.” The executive’s remarks highlighted the bank’s strategic priorities in corporate and wholesale banking. Qatar International Islamic Bank has maintained a focus on developing Sharia-compliant products tailored to institutional and business clients.
The Qatar News Agency noted that the award forms part of Qatar International Islamic Bank’s growing list of international accolades during 2026. Gulf Times reported in September that the bank earned two honours from International Business Magazine in the categories of innovation in Shariah-compliant financial products and outstanding corporate Islamic banking services. In addition, the World Union of Arab Bankers named Qatar International Islamic Bank the Best Islamic Sustainable Finance Bank in Qatar for 2026.
A Zawya press release on the event indicated that the Global Islamic Finance Awards and Summit brought together policymakers, regulators and industry executives to celebrate contributions to Islamic finance integrity and growth. The programme, established in 2011, has recognised recipients from more than 60 countries across its editions. The 2026 London ceremony featured multiple category winners spanning sustainable finance, digital innovation and market leadership.
