DiabMart said in a statement that individuals with diabetes typically see a doctor just four times a year for about 10 minutes each visit. The company highlighted what it terms the 89-day gap as the extended period when patients must independently handle thousands of daily decisions involving diet, physical activity, sleep and medication. That interval ultimately shapes long-term health outcomes more than the brief clinical consultations themselves.

According to the International Diabetes Federation Diabetes Atlas more than 1.27 million adults in the UAE live with diabetes while nearly 64 percent of cases remain undiagnosed. The Ministry of Health and Prevention has carried out more than 150,000 diabetes screening tests through nationwide programmes that emphasise early detection and preventive care. Data from the federation also show the Middle East and North Africa region maintains the world’s highest age-adjusted diabetes prevalence with one in six adults affected and numbers forecast to nearly double by 2050.

The platform offers a curated selection of diabetic-friendly foods, continuous glucose monitoring devices, foot and skin care items plus subscription delivery across all seven emirates. Users gain access to personalised nutrition and fitness coaching together with DiabMate, an AI companion that delivers glucose trend insights, habit reminders and daily guidance. DiabMart further operates a DiabMart @ Work programme that extends similar metabolic health support to employers seeking to improve workforce wellness.

“Healthcare is there on appointment day. We built DiabMart for every day in between,” Hassan Siddiqui, founder and chief executive of DiabMart, said in the statement. “Living with diabetes taught me that the greatest challenge isn’t the consultation, it’s the thousands of decisions made between appointments,” he added. Siddiqui explained that the platform and companion were developed from his own experience to help users navigate those periods with greater confidence.

Partnerships with global health technology manufacturers and regional distributors have enabled the company to expand availability of connected monitoring tools throughout the UAE. Demand for subscription-based diabetes care solutions continues to increase as more patients adopt digital management approaches, according to the statement. The platform maintains live iOS and Android applications that facilitate seamless ordering and tracking for nationwide users.

DiabMart stated that it does not function as a pharmacy or clinic and instead collaborates with licensed partners for any dispensing or clinical requirements. The company indicated plans to replicate the model across the GCC with an initial launch in Saudi Arabia. Federation figures place the current regional diabetes total at roughly 85 million adults projected to reach 163 million by 2050, underscoring the scale of the challenge the platform seeks to address.
