flydubai announced the resumption of direct flights between Dubai International Airport and Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport from July 31, according to a statement issued by the carrier that day. The Dubai-based airline will operate the route three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from Terminal 3 initially before scaling the service to daily operations from October 25. The reinstated connection aims to serve leisure travelers, business passengers and those visiting friends and relatives during the peak summer travel period while restoring non-stop links between the UAE and Hungary. In the statement, flydubai noted that the route provides seamless access to its broader network of more than 120 destinations worldwide.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, said in the statement, “The resumption of our Budapest service reaffirms our long-term investment in Hungary and reflects the strong economic and cultural ties between our two nations.” Al Ghaith added that Budapest remains one of the carrier’s most strategic European markets. The comments come as the airline continues to build its presence in Central and Eastern Europe, a region where it has recorded steady commercial growth since first launching flights to the Hungarian capital in 2021. The arrangement extends joint network reach across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Southeast Asia, according to the carrier’s release. The Budapest resumption follows flydubai’s recent addition of several new destinations, the carrier’s statement indicated. From September 23, the airline will further expand by adding Pokhara in Nepal to its network.
