The Qatar Chamber received recognition at the fourth edition of the Arab CSR Awards for its contributions to advancing corporate social responsibility and sustainable practices, according to a Qatar Tribune report. The honour was presented as part of activities marking the International Day of Social Responsibility, which ran alongside the International Forum for Sustainable Economy 2026 in Manama. Hussein Yousef Al Abdulghani, director of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department, represented the chamber at the Bahraini gathering and accepted the award on its behalf.
The Regional Network for Social Responsibility organised the events in honorary partnership with UNIDO’s Investment and Technology Promotion Office and the Union of Arab Chambers, the newspaper stated. Discussions at the forum centred on integrating sustainability into economic frameworks across the Arab region while fostering collaboration among participating entities. The chamber’s involvement continues a pattern of engagement in similar regional platforms dedicated to responsible business conduct.
Qatar Chamber has supported multiple CSR initiatives that correspond with priorities in Qatar National Vision 2030, a strategy that addresses sustainable development across economic, social and environmental areas, according to details from prior chamber-hosted events. In January 2026 the chamber organised the fourth Private Sector Social Responsibility Conference, which adopted the Doha Declaration 2026 and highlighted family businesses that represent 75 percent of the Arab economy, a Gulf Times article indicated. That declaration recommended unified CSR standards along with greater emphasis on innovation, digital transformation and green finance.
Earlier recognitions include an award presented to the chamber’s acting general manager, Ali Saeed Bu Sharbak Al-Mansori, by the Regional Network for Social Responsibility in January 2026 for his role in promoting CSR across Qatar, Qatar Tribune figures show. Al-Mansori had also featured in the 2025 list of most influential Arab personalities in social responsibility. The chamber additionally conducted training courses on the ISO 26000 social responsibility management system that drew participants from Qatar and several other Arab states.
A separate training of trainers programme concluded by the chamber in May 2025 focused on building expertise to design sustainable development programmes, according to the chamber’s published account. These capacity-building efforts involved representatives from six Arab countries and emphasised practical approaches to CSR implementation. Recommendations from the January 2026 conference also proposed establishing an international observatory for sustainability and social responsibility as well as professional exchange programmes, Gulf Times reported. Such steps aim to strengthen institutional capabilities and spread CSR principles among emerging business leaders. The Qatar Chamber’s latest honour at the Arab CSR Awards adds to its record of contributions in this domain.
