Qatar Tourism announced a broad August 2026 calendar filled with family, cultural and sports activities at venues in and around Doha, according to a statement issued through the Qatar News Agency. The schedule targets citizens, residents and visitors of all ages with options ranging from summer camps to world-level competitions and interactive museum sessions. Qatar Tourism reports placed international visitor arrivals at 5.1 million in 2025, an increase of 3.7 percent from the previous year, while room nights sold rose 8.6 percent to exceed 10.8 million.
Family-oriented programs form a core element of the calendar, Qatar Tourism said in the announcement. Activities include the Go Ninja Summer Camp running through August 27, The Hangout at Msheireb Galleria continuing until August 15 and the Dana Club Summer Camp operating until August 31. Hala Summer Malls Activation will take place at multiple shopping centers through the end of September, providing additional entertainment spaces for families.
Sports events feature prominently across the month, the tourism body reported. The Beat the Heat summer fitness race series extends until September 11 while the MOQ Fit Club at Mall of Qatar runs through September 19. Highlights comprise the Sports For All Federation Ladies Track Challenge on August 14 at Aspire Indoor Track, the FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U17 World Championship hosted in Doha from August 19 to 29, the Qatar versus China FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers match on August 27 at Al-Gharafa Sports Club and the first edition of Run the Dome on August 28 and 29 at Aspire Dome.
Cultural offerings center on exhibitions and workshops organized by Qatar Museums, according to the released details. The program presents the Countryside: A Place to Live, Not to Leave exhibit together with a preview of the Qatar Auto Museum Project at the National Museum of Qatar. Further sessions encompass the Msheireb Museums Summer Program at Bin Jalmoud House until August 13, an intermediate Diwani Calligraphy workshop from August 2 to 5 at the Museum of Islamic Art, a children’s summer camp with the Internal Security Force from August 2 to 13 and the Museum Explorer initiative from August 3 to 12 at the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum.
The calendar aligns with Qatar’s wider event strategy that hosted more than 600 cultural, sports and entertainment programs in 2025, Qatar Tourism figures show. First-quarter 2026 arrivals reached 1.13 million visitors, setting the stage for continued growth in the second half of the year. National development plans target 6 million to 7 million annual visitors by 2030 with tourism contributing 10 to 12 percent of gross domestic product.
