H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, addressed the Ras Al Khaimah-China Business Summit in Shenzhen where nearly 300 government representatives, investors and business leaders convened to strengthen economic relations. The event, organised under the theme Together Towards Shared Value, aimed to connect Chinese businesses with Ras Al Khaimah institutions while exploring opportunities for investment and joint projects, a WAM dispatch from the venue stated. Attendees included Hussain Al Hammadi, the UAE Ambassador to China, Mohammad Abdulrahman Alhawi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Investment, and other senior officials from both countries.
In his keynote speech the ruler underlined that stability and trust constitute the true pillars of progress, framing them as essential for sustainable economic development and long-term partnerships. “Our progress is measured not by short-term success but by the legacy we leave for future generations,” he said according to WAM. Sheikh Saud added that Ras Al Khaimah is constructing an economy that is resilient, diversified and linked to global supply chains while maintaining the quality of life that distinguishes the emirate.
The ruler pointed out that thousands of Chinese companies have set up operations in the UAE with more than 400 already based in Ras Al Khaimah, reflecting established confidence in the emirate’s offerings. He detailed growing prospects in advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, digital technologies, renewable energy and logistics where enhanced cooperation could deliver tangible results. A WAM report on the address noted the ruler’s insistence that enduring partnerships grounded in stability and trust remain critical to achieving sustainable growth.
Sheikh Saud described Ras Al Khaimah’s role as the UAE’s Northern Gateway that provides Chinese firms with streamlined entry to markets throughout the Middle East, Africa and Europe while aligning with China’s Belt and Road Initiative. “As we build upon decades of close friendship, we look forward to deepening the bond between Ras Al Khaimah and China to ensure a future of enduring opportunity,” he stated in the speech carried by WAM. The ruler’s comments came during a working visit that also included a meeting with Li Yun, Mayor of Shenzhen, to examine further avenues for collaboration.
Figures from the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry show the emirate attracted AED771.5 million in new capital investment in the first half of 2026 from 1,399 investors representing 68 nationalities. The chamber recorded 967 new establishments and the creation of 2,449 jobs linked to that inflow, alongside the issuance and renewal of nearly 10,000 business licences during the period. Such data illustrate the emirate’s continued draw for international capital and its progress toward a diversified economic base.
The summit programme incorporated a fireside discussion on China-Ras Al Khaimah economic links, a presentation delivered by the UAE Ministry of Investment and multiple panels addressing investment, finance, trade, technology and the development of smart destinations. These sessions examined how connectivity and innovation can generate value for businesses and communities alike, the WAM dispatch indicated. The gathering forms part of broader efforts to position Ras Al Khaimah as a preferred partner for Chinese enterprises seeking regional expansion.
