The Emirates News Agency reported that Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri held three bilateral meetings with Argentine ministers while heading the UAE delegation at the 30th edition of the International Tourism Fair in Buenos Aires, an event running from September 26 to 29. The discussions with Luis Caputo, Daniel Scioli and Pablo Quirno Magrane centered on ways to strengthen the bilateral partnership in fields of mutual interest. Bin Touq stressed that relations between the UAE and Argentina continue to grow, driven by a shared vision and mutual commitment to broadening cooperation particularly in the economy and tourism.
In his meeting with Economy Minister Luis Caputo, Bin Touq examined opportunities to deepen ties across the new economy, food and agriculture, renewable energy, technology, infrastructure, mining and logistics. The two sides reviewed potential new avenues for partnership that could deliver sustainable benefits to both economies. Such collaboration would build on the competitive strengths each country brings to the table.
Bin Touq met separately with Daniel Scioli, Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports, to advance cooperation in sustainable tourism, digital transformation and infrastructure investment. The number of Argentine tourists visiting the UAE rose 55.7 percent in 2025 to reach 41,476, according to data cited in the Emirates News Agency dispatch. Bin Touq highlighted Abu Dhabi’s role in hosting the 127th session of the UN Tourism Executive Council in November as a further platform for joint work on innovation, sustainability and skills development.
The UAE minister also conferred with Pablo Quirno Magrane, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, on enhancing overall economic relations in the wake of recent Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement negotiations launched in New York the previous week. A joint statement from that earlier meeting outlined priority areas including mining, artificial intelligence, pharmaceuticals, energy, agribusiness, aerospace, tourism and infrastructure. The CEPA talks seek to accelerate market access and high-quality investment flows between the two countries.
Bin Touq noted the expanding footprint of Argentine businesses in the UAE, where the number of active commercial companies grew 21.1 percent to nearly 750 by the end of March 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier. He participated in a roundtable that brought together government officials and private-sector representatives from both nations to examine investment prospects in tourism, hospitality and cross-market business expansion. The session underscored practical steps companies could take to increase their presence in each other’s economies.
Non-oil bilateral trade reached $767.5 million in 2025, a 42.6 percent increase from 2024, according to Ministry of Foreign Trade figures that illustrate the momentum behind the latest discussions. The developments build on a strategic energy partnership that includes a projected $51 billion Argentina LNG project, a prior Emirates News Agency statement on the CEPA launch indicated. Officials from the UAE and Argentina reaffirmed their interest in developing more effective and sustainable partnerships across the coming period.
