Emirates Skywards said in an announcement that members can now redeem their miles for rail tickets to more than 12,000 destinations in Europe. The Skywards Rail service covers multiple countries and involves more than 40 train operators including Eurostar, Deutsche Bahn and SNCF. Users log in with their Skywards details at a dedicated platform to search schedules, view dynamic pricing and select ticket options for themselves, family or friends. “Our members are looking for more flexible ways to use their Skywards Miles, and Skywards Rail is another step in expanding the programme beyond air travel,” said Dr. Nejib Ben Khedher, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Skywards.

An Emirates update from May 2026 placed the programme’s membership above 38 million worldwide while noting its recognition as the best global airline loyalty program. This rail integration allows bookings with full miles or partial payment starting from as little as one mile combined with a credit card. It connects with Emirates flights into nearly 30 cities across the region for continued travel by train while tickets arrive as e-PDFs via email and are managed in a dedicated bookings section with changes and refunds governed by operator rules.

The IMARC Group reported that the Europe railroad market reached USD 142.6 billion in 2025 and is projected to attain USD 210.8 billion by 2034 at a compound annual growth rate of 4.31 percent. The launch of Skywards Rail aligns with rising demand for rail as a sustainable ground transport option across the continent. Emirates Skywards’ expansion targets enhanced utility of loyalty miles amid shifting traveler priorities toward multimodal journeys.

The service, managed with Junction Connect Limited, excludes eligibility for certain accounts including Skysurfers, My Family and Business Rewards. Sample redemptions include London to Paris at 9,400 miles and Berlin to Frankfurt at 4,100 miles although actual requirements fluctuate based on availability and ticket type. This addition broadens the programme significantly beyond its traditional focus on flights, hotels and car rentals.

Company records indicate Emirates Skywards first exceeded 30 million members in 2023 before continuing its expansion in subsequent years. Recent programme enhancements have emphasised greater flexibility in how members deploy accumulated miles. The rail feature extends access to an extensive European network that complements the carrier’s existing flight schedule.

Research from multiple industry sources points to sustained growth in European rail transport with annual rates above 4 percent anticipated through the next decade. Emirates Skywards has integrated the option to support seamless onward travel from its arrival points in key cities. The development forms part of ongoing updates designed to increase engagement within its large global membership.
