The Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department released figures on Thursday showing Emirati women’s real estate acquisitions rose across all measures from the prior year. Properties purchased by female investors increased 1.9 percent to 3385 from 3322 in the January-to-August period of 2025, while the number of owners grew 4.2 percent to 3737 from 3586. Transaction value advanced 1.2 percent to Dhs2.7 billion from Dhs2.6 billion, according to the department’s statistical report that highlighted growing female participation in the sector.
Amal Obaid Hadid, head of the media section at the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, stated that celebrating Emirati Women’s Day is a moment of pride in the honourable achievements of UAE women across all sectors. She tied the outcomes to the UAE National Strategy for the Empowerment of Emirati Women 2023-2031 along with Sharjah’s supportive policies under leaders including Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi. The department described the data as evidence of women’s rising confidence in the emirate’s investment climate and their focus on developing sustainable capital assets.
Separate data from the department detailed a surge in overall Sharjah real estate activity during July 2026 when transaction value hit Dhs7 billion. That represented a 61.8 percent increase from June while the number of deals climbed 25.3 percent to 9376 across 27.2 million square feet of area. The trades occurred in 129 locations throughout the emirate with particular concentration in residential, industrial and commercial land plots.
Land transactions led July activity with 1347 deals that broke down into 895 residential, 381 industrial and 71 commercial. Subdivided units added 894 transactions and developed properties contributed 643, the department’s breakdown showed. Among notable deals were an Dhs850 million land sale in Industrial Area 4 and a Dhs120 million mortgage registration in Al Layyeh.
An earlier assessment from the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department found that UAE nationals drove 50.6 percent of the emirate’s real estate trading value in the first half of 2026 with women forming a substantial share of that activity. The latest eight-month female investment statistics build upon that foundation and align with national policies promoting greater economic involvement by Emirati women. Such participation has helped reinforce domestic demand within a market that continues to attract both individual and family investors.
A mid-August report by the same department showed young Emirati women comprising more than 40 percent of youth investors in Sharjah real estate with AED1.5 billion in property trades. That youth segment overall included 5314 Emiratis aged 18 to 35 who completed deals on 7052 properties valued at AED4.3 billion. The overlapping trends point to broadening engagement from both female and younger demographics as Sharjah’s property sector expands.
