Sharjah24 reported that the meeting took place at the office of the Deputy Ruler, where Sheikh Sultan welcomed the bureau’s delegation and commended its contributions to the national financial infrastructure. The Deputy Ruler praised the organisation’s work in bolstering the credit registry and promoting best practices that support stability in the financial sector. He noted that these efforts align with the state’s vision for developing a sophisticated and sustainable financial system.

The Director General briefed the Sheikh on the bureau’s mandate, which encompasses gathering, safeguarding and disseminating credit information while maintaining the country’s sole authority to produce credit reports. According to the briefing, the bureau has forged ties with over 115 data providers, including banks, financial firms and judicial authorities, to deliver comprehensive credit assessments. This network enables a reliable view of the credit standing of individuals and companies alike.

Talks during the reception centred on fostering collaboration between the Sharjah Judicial Council and Al Etihad Credit Bureau to facilitate better sharing of knowledge and information. The discussions also addressed the creation of unified working procedures that could improve operational efficiency and institutional coordination. Such measures would benefit both the judicial apparatus in the emirate and the wider national financial framework.

Al Etihad Credit Bureau has played a central role in UAE financial transparency since its inception, with partnerships that now extend to more than 160 entities across multiple sectors, its website states. A July 2025 assessment by the Union of UAE Banks described the bureau as a vital element in the country’s sustainable economic progress through the provision of accurate data for risk management. Recent initiatives have incorporated additional government data sources into credit evaluations, allowing for more nuanced corporate risk profiling.

The bureau has extended its collaborative approach regionally, signing a memorandum of understanding with Kuwait’s CINET in 2024 to enable cross-border credit data exchange, according to a statement from the Kuwaiti entity. Earlier visits by its team to credit bureaus in Saudi Arabia and Qatar focused on sharing implementation experiences and exploring joint projects, Khaleej Times reported in February 2026. These engagements have helped harmonise practices among GCC credit information agencies.

The encounter reflects ongoing efforts to integrate judicial and financial systems more closely within the UAE. By engaging with Al Etihad Credit Bureau, Sharjah authorities seek to refine procedures related to credit matters in courts and support informed policymaking. The bureau’s Director General, Marwan Ahmad Lutfi, has consistently advocated for expanded partnerships to elevate the quality of credit services nationwide.
