Abu Dhabi Airports announced that Condor launched daily year-round flights between Berlin Brandenburg Airport and Zayed International Airport beginning October 15, 2026. The service operates with an Airbus A320neo configured with 180 seats and establishes the first scheduled direct connection between the two capitals on Condor’s network. The airport operator’s statement emphasised that the codeshare partnership with Etihad Airways enables passengers from Berlin to connect to destinations throughout the Middle East, Asia and Australia while those departing from Abu Dhabi gain enhanced access to Condor’s long-haul routes via Berlin.

Carsten Nørland, chief commercial officer of Abu Dhabi Airports, said in the announcement that the launch strengthens direct connectivity between two dynamic outward-looking capitals. “The launch of Condor’s daily, year-round Berlin service strengthens direct connectivity between two dynamic, outward-looking capitals,” Nørland stated. He added that through the partnership with Condor and Etihad Airways Zayed International Airport connects Abu Dhabi with Berlin and beyond supporting greater opportunities for tourism business and trade while reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global destination.

Dr. Pierre Dominique Prümm, chief commercial officer at Condor Airlines, highlighted the route’s importance to the carrier’s expansion in the joint statement. “With the launch of daily service between Berlin and Abu Dhabi, we are adding an important destination to our long-haul network and further strengthening international connectivity for the capital region,” Prümm said. He noted that together with the codeshare partner Etihad Airways the arrangement offers guests an attractive direct service to Abu Dhabi plus seamless connections to numerous destinations across Asia, Australia and Africa while describing the cooperation as combining the strengths of both networks.

The new Berlin route builds upon a partnership between Etihad Airways and Condor that was confirmed during a September 2026 event in Munich The National reported. That coverage indicated the agreement followed Germany’s opening of Berlin Brandenburg Airport to UAE airlines and noted that Etihad operates 35 flights a week to Germany with the Condor collaboration expected to add between 12 and 14 weekly services in phases. Dr. Nadia Bastaki, Etihad’s chief people government and corporate affairs officer, had described the development as a significant step for connections between the UAE and Germany at the time.

Gulf News reported the initial schedule has flights departing Berlin at 4:40 p.m. and arriving in Abu Dhabi at 1 a.m. the following day with return flights leaving Abu Dhabi at 2:15 a.m. to reach Berlin at 7:15 a.m. Timings will shift from October 25 to reflect Germany’s transition to winter time with departures from Berlin moving to 10 a.m. and arrivals in Abu Dhabi at 7:20 p.m. The publication added that the aircraft choice and frequency aim to meet demand for both leisure and business travel on the corridor.

Abu Dhabi Airports continues to expand international links at Zayed International Airport as part of its strategy to grow as a global aviation hub. The operator’s statement on the Condor service aligns with earlier efforts to increase European connectivity and stimulate economic activity through enhanced air services. Such developments support broader trade relations between the UAE and Germany where bilateral cooperation spans multiple sectors according to longstanding diplomatic ties between the countries.
