The bilateral meeting at the Ministry of Economy and Tourism in Dubai covered opportunities to enhance cooperation in the new economy, circular economy, food security, sustainable development and logistics services while exploring additional areas of economic partnership. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri and Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili reviewed prospects for stimulating investment between the two markets, advancing shared projects and improving links between businesses and entrepreneurs. The two sides also exchanged data on prospects in high-potential sectors, the Emirates News Agency reported.

Al Marri stated that the UAE keeps reinforcing its role as an economic partner to diverse global markets through upgrades to its legislative and institutional frameworks, the expansion of international collaborations and the creation of a competitive business climate that backs investment, innovation and private-sector growth. He highlighted interest in raising economic relations with Georgia to fresh levels that broaden investment opportunities and diversify collaboration into new fields. The minister’s comments came during the session focused on practical steps to translate shared goals into tangible outcomes.

Discussions extended to tourism and hospitality, where the officials examined ways to increase investments, develop hotel projects and draw on expertise in destination management to make locations more attractive. Georgian tourism to the UAE supports these aims, with visitor numbers reaching about 33,600 in 2025 and direct flights operating at a rate of 41 per week, data cited by the Emirates News Agency show. These metrics create further openings to grow tourism exchanges between the countries.

Separate talks during the Georgian minister’s visit produced additional momentum, with UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi noting on X that non-oil trade climbed to $782.1 million in 2025, a 20.9 percent rise from the previous year and almost four times the 2019 figure. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement that took effect in June 2024 targets lifting annual non-oil trade to $1.5 billion within five years. Both ministers agreed to build on this foundation by expanding activity in logistics, tourism, real estate and renewable energy.

Existing links already include Abu Dhabi-based AD Ports Group’s 60 percent ownership of Tbilisi Dry Port, a rail-connected facility that advances freight movement along the Middle Corridor trade route linking Central Asia and Europe. Georgian officials used the visit to seek UAE investment in major infrastructure such as a new international airport at Vaziani and the Anaklia deep-sea port, according to reports from regional outlets covering the meetings. The National Bank of Georgia and Central Bank of the UAE also signed a memorandum on financial cooperation earlier in the week to support regulatory alignment and fintech development.

The engagements reflect steady growth in bilateral relations since the partnership agreement entered into force, with both governments focused on concrete steps to increase trade volumes and investment in priority industries. Data from the meetings indicate that cooperation in food security and sustainable projects will form part of the next phase of joint work. Officials from both sides committed to continued dialogue to maintain the upward trajectory in economic ties.
