Dubai Chambers welcomed a delegation from the Board of Directors of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce at its headquarters for talks on advancing economic cooperation between the emirate and Colombia. The meeting brought together business leaders to examine prospects for higher trade volumes, greater investment and closer private sector collaboration across key sectors. H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, led the discussions that focused on practical steps to build on existing momentum.

In an announcement on its website, Dubai Chambers quoted Lootah emphasising continued efforts to advance shared interests. “We are continuing to strengthen trade relations between Dubai and Colombia in ways that advance our shared interests, increase bilateral trade and investment flows, and deepen cooperation between our business communities,” Lootah stated. He added that the chamber remains committed to developing effective partnerships that create new opportunities for Colombian companies to utilise Dubai’s integrated business environment and its position as a global hub for trade, investment and regional expansion.

Dubai Chambers reported that non-oil trade between Dubai and Colombia reached AED 4 billion in 2025, recording annual growth of 97.4 percent. The organisation’s data places the number of active Colombian company members in the Dubai Chamber of Commerce at 173 by the end of 2025. These results formed part of the briefing provided during the meeting with the visiting delegation.

The talks follow the launch of Dubai International Chamber’s representative office in Bogotá in December 2024, which a prior Dubai Chambers statement identified as a platform to support business ties and partnerships. That office brought the chamber’s total international representative offices to 33 and focused on attracting investment while assisting companies with market entry. Colombian businesses have since increased their engagement with the Dubai market through this channel.

Dubai Chamber of Commerce established the Colombian Business Council in June 2024 to serve as a dedicated platform for cooperation, according to an earlier chamber announcement. The council’s inaugural meeting identified priority areas and planned events to foster joint opportunities between companies in both locations. Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, previously noted that such councils function as important platforms to enhance cooperation and build fruitful partnerships.

These initiatives align with the chamber’s work to support the Dubai Economic Agenda by expanding non-oil trade and international networks, Dubai Chambers has stated across multiple releases. The organisation has participated in events such as Colombia Tech Week to showcase opportunities and connect firms from Latin America with the emirate’s ecosystem. The representative offices and business councils collectively form a structured approach to deepening economic relations with markets including Colombia.
