His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi witnessed the signing of a strategic memorandum of understanding between UBTECH Robotics and the International Relations Office of the Ras Al Khaimah Government at the company’s facility in Shenzhen. The agreement establishes a framework for advanced research, live field testing and operational deployment of humanoid robotic systems in the emirate. At the Shenzhen Urban Transport Planning Center, the delegation oversaw another memorandum focused on cooperation in smart transportation systems and the emerging low-altitude economy sector.

The Ruler toured UBTECH Robotics’ production lines to learn about its latest technological developments in artificial intelligence and robotics. According to the Emirates News Agency, he also engaged with representatives from more than a dozen other major Chinese companies and institutions spanning finance, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure and energy. The list included ZTE, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Road and Bridge Corporation, Qilu Pharmaceutical and Xiamen Airlines.

Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi stated that Ras Al Khaimah’s growing relations with China are founded on a shared commitment to long-term cooperation, innovation and mutual prosperity. The Emirates News Agency quoted him as valuing direct communication with leading Chinese firms to exchange expertise and create new investment pathways. These engagements form part of sustained efforts to deepen bilateral economic links.

The visit followed closely on the Ras Al Khaimah-China Business Summit held in Shenzhen on October 19. The National reported that the summit drew nearly 300 participants to discuss opportunities in advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, digital technology, renewable energy and logistics. More than 400 Chinese companies operate in Ras Al Khaimah, the Ruler told attendees at that event, positioning the emirate as a gateway to markets across the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

Dubai Chambers data places non-oil trade between Dubai and China at $571.8 billion over the decade through 2025, with a 23 percent increase registered in 2025 alone. Chinese foreign direct investment into Dubai jumped 179 percent in 2025 to $925.8 million. The latest agreements with Ras Al Khaimah entities are expected to channel similar momentum toward the northern emirate’s priority sectors.

The delegation’s itinerary in Guangdong and Fujian provinces also encompassed meetings with financial and pharmaceutical groups as well as visits to e-commerce operations. Earlier this year, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi had witnessed the signing of cooperation frameworks with Chinese banks to facilitate investment in manufacturing, logistics and renewable energy. The current trip builds directly on those foundations and prior visits in 2024.
