Air Arabia said in a statement that it will operate the new route to Katowice International Airport with Airbus A320neo aircraft beginning December 17. The schedule includes departures from Sharjah at 17:55 arriving at 21:15 on Thursdays and Saturdays along with morning flights departing at 08:00 on Mondays and Fridays. The service is intended to deliver convenient connections between the UAE and southern Poland while broadening the airline’s reach across Europe.
Katowice becomes the third Polish city linked directly to Sharjah after services to Krakow that began in June 2024 and routes to both Warsaw Chopin and Warsaw Modlin airports launched during 2025. Earlier announcements from the carrier and WAM detailed how those initial Polish connections quickly built demand for two-way traffic. The latest addition forms part of a pattern of network growth that has seen Air Arabia increase winter capacity on European routes by 19 percent over the previous season according to aviation industry reports.
“We are pleased to introduce Katowice to our network from Sharjah. The new four-weekly service will provide our customers with more choices while supporting tourism, business and economic ties between the UAE and Poland,” Adel Al Ali, group chief executive officer at Air Arabia, said in the statement. He added, “As we continue to expand our European network, we remain focused on responding to the evolving travel needs of our customers and providing reliable, value-driven air travel across our network. We look forward to welcoming our customers onboard our new service.”
Artur Tomasik, chief executive officer of Katowice Airport, welcomed the decision in the same announcement. “We welcome Air Arabia’s decision to launch the Sharjah-Katowice route. As a network carrier, Air Arabia significantly strengthens Katowice Airport’s connectivity. We anticipate strong two-way traffic,” he said. Tomasik noted that southern Poland residents would gain better access to the airline’s extensive range of destinations while UAE residents would find easier travel options to Poland for business and tourism purposes.
The carrier operates scheduled services to more than 200 destinations across the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and Asia according to its published route map. Its European network already includes cities such as Athens, Milan Bergamo and Vienna in addition to the Polish points. Air Arabia reported a net profit of AED 278 million for the first quarter of 2026 in results released in May despite regional operational challenges.
Flight timings published in the statement show returns from Katowice at 22:05 on Thursdays and Saturdays arriving Sharjah at 06:50 the following day together with afternoon departures at 12:10 on Mondays and Fridays landing at 20:55. The schedule provides four weekly frequencies in each direction once fully implemented. The announcement highlighted seamless transfer opportunities at Sharjah to destinations across Asia as an added benefit for passengers on the new Poland route.
