The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Ajman Department of Finance signed a memorandum of understanding to activate the Unified Attestation Package, WAM reported. The agreement aims to boost governmental integration in digital services and advance targets under the zero bureaucracy government programme through electronic connectivity. It focuses on delivering integrated services for issuing and attesting documents issued by the Ajman Chamber without requiring separate visits to each entity.
Customers can now accomplish three transactions via one application under the package, the joint statement said. The process starts with attestation of documents from the Ajman Chamber, followed by automatic certification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE embassy in the destination country. This structure removes the previous requirement for individuals to approach multiple platforms independently for each step.
The Unified Attestation Package delivers the service proactively across digital channels, simplifying the customer journey, according to the three entities. It shortens transaction completion time to roughly three minutes from an earlier six working days, which had included three days domestically and three abroad. The arrangement also eliminates fees associated with delivery services that were previously charged.
Omar Obaid Al Shamsi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the unified attestation package reflects the ministry’s approach in enhancing digital integration with governmental entities. He added that it unifies attestation procedures within the state and abroad inside an integrated digital journey that simplifies procedures and reduces time and effort. This supports the goals of zeroing bureaucracy and raises the quality and efficiency of services, Al Shamsi noted.
Attestation of commercial documents in the UAE has historically involved multiple layers of verification with fees reaching AED 2,000 per document for commercial items while personal certificates cost AED 150, attestation industry figures show. The Ajman Chamber routinely issues certificates of origin and related attestations as core services to support local businesses engaged in trade. The new package builds on these functions by embedding them into a seamless digital workflow.
The initiative aligns with the UAE’s ongoing digital transformation across government services, which has sought to minimise bureaucratic hurdles for residents and enterprises. Ajman Department of Finance officials participated in the memorandum alongside representatives from the chamber and the ministry. The activation marks a further step in coordinating federal and local entities to facilitate smoother procedures for documents used in international transactions.
