Doha Bank has mandated a group of 12 banks to act as joint lead managers and bookrunners for a proposed US dollar bond issue, the Qatari lender said in a statement released on October 21, 2026. The appointees will organise fixed income investor calls and meetings on behalf of the bank to gauge demand. A five-year benchmark Reg S offering under the bank’s Euro Medium Term Note programme may follow the engagements, subject to market conditions, according to the announcement published on the Qatar Exchange.
The statement listed ABC, Barclays, BBVA, Deutsche Bank, Emirates NBD Capital, Goldman Sachs International, HSBC, Kamco Invest, KGI Asia, Mashreq, QNB Capital and Standard Chartered as the mandated institutions. This syndicate blends global and regional expertise to support the potential transaction. The bank indicated that the appointments mark the initial step toward accessing international debt markets once more.
Doha Bank previously completed a $500 million five-year bond issuance in March 2026 under similar Reg S terms, a Zawya report stated. That transaction carried a coupon of 5.25 percent and formed part of the bank’s ongoing efforts to diversify its funding base. The latest mandate builds on that precedent as the lender evaluates current market appetite.
The Ministry of Finance reported that the State of Qatar successfully issued $3 billion in dual-tranche conventional bonds during September 2026, comprising five-year and 10-year maturities. The deal attracted peak orders of $7.7 billion and was priced at spreads of 55 and 65 basis points over US Treasuries for the respective tranches. Such robust demand for Qatari paper has characterised recent activity in the region’s debt capital markets.
Fitch Ratings assigns Doha Bank an A rating with stable outlook while Moody’s provides a Baa1 stable rating, according to agency assessments. These ratings have supported the bank’s prior access to international investors on competitive terms. The Euro Medium Term Note programme under which the potential new bond would be issued allows for flexible future capital raising as conditions permit.
QNB Capital features among the joint lead managers, the bank’s statement noted, alongside other regional participants including Emirates NBD Capital and Mashreq. The broad syndicate aims to secure wide distribution for any eventual offering. Details including size and final pricing would be determined following feedback gathered during the investor meetings.
