Emirates and Al Etihad Payments announced the partnership that will permit customers to use the UAE national card scheme for flight bookings starting September 16. Users can input Jaywan card information at the checkout stage on emirates.com while retail stores will process physical cards following verification by staff members. The agreement encompasses every variety of Jaywan card according to the announcement from the airline and the payments operator.
Jaywan cardholders will receive special fares across all cabin classes and most fare types for both one-way and return flights originating in Dubai. Bookings qualifying for the discounts can be made from September 16, 2026 through August 31, 2027 with travel allowed until February 29, 2028. The promotional fares are accessible immediately via Emirates retail stores with online availability set to be added afterward.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ deputy president and chief commercial officer, said, “Jaywan is now added as a home-grown option that adds further choice and simplicity when booking. It also means more people across the UAE who use Jaywan cards can book with Emirates as easily as they would make any other payment.” Dr Tariq Al Hawi, chief operating officer at Al Etihad Payments, said, “The acceptance of Jaywan cards across emirates.com and Emirates’ retail stores gives Jaywan cardholders greater choice, flexibility and convenience.”
Al Etihad Payments inaugurated Jaywan as the UAE national domestic card scheme in July 2026. The operator, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Central Bank of the UAE, designed the scheme to strengthen financial infrastructure by processing domestic transactions through the UAESWITCH network. Later agreements with global card networks have extended usability beyond UAE borders for cardholders.
Etihad Airways integrated Jaywan for flight bookings in August 2026 becoming the first carrier to do so according to contemporary reports. Emirates has broadened its accepted payment methods in recent months by partnering with Dubai Finance and launching Crypto.com Pay in July.
