Huawei announced the Watch GT 7 Pro at its global product event in Munich on September 4 2026 highlighting new health features designed to raise awareness of potential coronary heart disease and diabetes risks. The device builds on the GT 7 series with an upgraded Health Insights platform that delivers Physical Readiness scoring and personalised wellness recommendations based on collected data. According to the company the watch aims to help users identify issues sooner and consult doctors before conditions advance.
The Coronary Heart Disease Study requires users to wear the device for three to four days to generate a personalised cardiovascular risk assessment complete with heart health recommendations. This feature utilises electrocardiogram sensors along with interactive questionnaires available through an over-the-air update and the HUAWEI Research app. Huawei stated in its launch materials that the assessment provides reference information only and does not replace traditional medical diagnosis or treatment evaluation.
For diabetes awareness the Diabetes Risk Study tracks vital signs over three to 14 days to help users understand their risk level while supporting better eating habits and blood glucose control through ongoing monitoring. The company emphasised that results categorise patterns into low medium or high risk encouraging professional medical follow-up for anything beyond low. Huawei made clear the watch is not a medical device and the feature excludes use by minors pregnant individuals or those with type 1 diabetes specifying availability only in select markets.
International Diabetes Federation figures show the Middle East and North Africa region currently has 85 million adults living with diabetes a number projected to rise 92 percent to 163 million by 2050. In the UAE adult diabetes prevalence stands at 20.7 percent according to the same data set adding urgency to preventive tools. Huawei’s approach aligns with broader industry efforts to leverage wearable sensors for early risk signals without claiming diagnostic capabilities.
The Watch GT 7 Pro incorporates a nano-tech ceramic bezel and titanium alloy frame for durability while offering extended battery life of up to 21 days in light use or 12 days under typical conditions. New sports capabilities include industry-first wrist-based turn detection and G-Force monitoring alongside AI-powered cycling insights and route planning features. The company positioned these additions as enhancements that blend health tracking with performance tools for outdoor activities.
Huawei also expanded its HUAWEI Health platform with a subscription option providing access to personalised training from champion athletes and AI-driven insights. The launch forms part of a wider portfolio rollout that includes new tablets smartphones and audio products all unveiled at the Munich event. Additional health functions cover 24-hour heart rate variability monitoring sleep analysis emotional wellbeing and women’s health metrics according to the product specifications.
