First Abu Dhabi Bank announced the launch of its first fully automated, paperless personal loan journey, the bank said in a statement issued Monday. Through its integration with the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, the new system provides an end-to-end digital experience for eligible customers in the FAHR-integrated employer network by enabling real-time salary validation and automated data entry via a secure digital link to the authority’s central HR system. This eliminates the traditional requirements for customers to manually collect, scan, print or submit salary certificates and salary transfer letters while reducing administrative steps, improving data accuracy and accelerating processing times. The bank described the initiative as a significant advancement in its digital lending transformation that moves away from manual methods to create a more customer-friendly process.

According to the statement, eligible customers can now complete their personal loan applications in a few simple steps, with the platform automatically retrieving verified employment and salary details to inform the credit evaluation. The journey has been designed to minimize friction for both applicants and their employers through reduced reliance on physical documents or direct HR involvement. Such features align with FAB’s broader strategy of investing in digital capabilities to deliver efficient, secure and accessible banking services across the UAE.

The announcement highlights how the paperless loan journey supports the country’s wider digital transformation agenda by partnering with key government entities, FAB stated. With total assets reaching AED 1.41 trillion as of June 2026, the bank has positioned itself as a leader in technological innovation within the regional financial sector. This latest development builds on prior successes, including digital personal loan top-up services that have slashed turnaround times to under 10 minutes from an average of five to six days previously, the bank’s annual report showed.

FAB’s digital transformation efforts, which began with automation pilots in 2019, have steadily expanded to cover more retail products and customer interactions, according to industry assessments of the lender. The integration with the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources exemplifies the type of public-private collaboration that is streamlining services for UAE residents. Customers in qualifying government-linked organizations will experience a significantly simplified borrowing process that prioritizes speed and convenience without compromising on security or compliance standards.

The bank, rated Aa3/AA-/AA- with stable outlooks by major credit agencies, continues to focus on sustainability alongside its digital push, achieving top-tier ESG ratings among global peers. This new loan facility is expected to appeal particularly to government employees seeking quick and hassle-free personal financing options as part of FAB’s role as a MENA finance gateway.
