Qatar News Agency reported that the affirmation was made at the closing ceremony of the 2026 Summer Innovation Camp for Entrepreneurship organized by the Young Entrepreneurs Club under the Ministry of Sports and Youth auspices and held at Andaz Doha. The program ran in partnership with the Qatar Chamber and Qatar Science and Technology Park with attendance from numerous entrepreneurs along with representatives from sponsoring entities and additional stakeholders. Al Mansori delivered the address emphasizing the critical contribution of entrepreneurs to economic diversification efforts while promoting innovation and supporting the move toward a knowledge-based economy.
Al Mansori described the camp as having created an interactive educational environment that allowed participants to uncover personal talents, promote teamwork and obtain hands-on understanding of entrepreneurship concepts adjusted for their specific ages and interests. The acting general manager further observed that tomorrow’s ideas, projects and accomplishments originate from developing a cohort possessing knowledge, self-confidence, creative thinking together with proficiency in converting concepts into actionable initiatives and expandable ventures. He indicated that the Qatar Chamber would keep reinforcing its ties with the Young Entrepreneurs Club and comparable groups by backing programs directed at youth to unlock their capabilities and refine entrepreneurial abilities.
Chairman of the Young Entrepreneurs Club Dr. Ibrahim Al Sulaiti characterized the camp as a national youth experience rather than a collection of standard training modules. Al Sulaiti explained that it offered a real platform enabling young individuals to evaluate their potential for influence, initiative and construction while progressing from an idea to a model, from that model to an opportunity and from the opportunity to a venture capable of benefiting the economy and community alike. The event concluded with a hackathon focused on refining youth ideas and projects according to related coverage.
The position expressed corresponds to the Qatar Chamber strategy spanning 2025 to 2030 that lists support for small and medium enterprises along with entrepreneurs among its six principal goals in line with the Third National Development Strategy, the chamber has stated in announcements. Industry assessments place small and medium enterprises as forming 97 percent of all private sector companies and establishments across Qatar where they contribute between 15 and 17 percent of non-oil gross domestic product with yearly expansion near 6 percent.
The figures underscore the sector’s expanding influence amid national drives for reduced reliance on hydrocarbons. On the eve of the ceremony the Qatar Chamber had convened a dialogue session titled Global Entrepreneurship Day focusing on the path from establishment through growth to investment in collaboration with the Young Entrepreneurs Club and involving prominent business founders, specialists and backers of the entrepreneurship system.
The discussion examined means of shifting concepts into growth-oriented enterprises, constructing sustainable business models, conducting market analyses to identify prospects and navigating obstacles during launch and scaling phases. Participants also reviewed avenues for securing finance, attracting investment and forging strategic alliances according to a chamber release. Participation in such programs builds on precedents including the 2025 edition of the Summer Innovation Camp that similarly partnered with the Qatar Development Bank to equip students with startup knowledge and practical experience at venues such as the Qatar Business Incubation Center, prior Qatar News Agency dispatches showed.
