flydubai has restored operations to 85 percent of its network while expanding its reach to more than 125 destinations in 56 countries, the carrier said in a statement. The Dubai-based airline is running around 2,200 flights each week after resuming services to Aleppo in Syria and Benghazi in Libya and launching flights to Bangkok in Thailand. Strong demand has led the carrier to boost Bangkok frequencies from one to three daily non-stop services to Don Mueang International Airport.
The airline will add Pokhara in Nepal on September 23 as its second destination in the country after Kathmandu, according to flydubai. It has also increased capacity on routes to Almaty, Bishkek and Tashkent in Central Asia ahead of the winter travel peak. These moves reflect the carrier’s response to resilient passenger demand following regional disruptions.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, said the past few months had demonstrated the strength and agility of the airline’s business model and its confidence in Dubai’s resilience. The CEO’s remarks accompanied the update on network recovery and growth. Al Ghaith has guided the carrier through its expansion while maintaining a focus on underserved markets.
flydubai reported a profit before tax of AED 2.2 billion on revenue of AED 13.6 billion for 2025 after carrying a record 15.7 million passengers, according to the airline’s annual results released in February 2026. Both revenue and capacity rose 6 percent that year as the network expanded. Those figures underscore the airline’s contribution to Dubai’s aviation hub status.
The network covers Africa, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Central and Southeast Europe, the GCC, the Middle East, South Asia and Southeast Asia, flydubai said. More than 100 routes are underserved markets that previously had no direct air links to Dubai or were not served by a UAE national carrier from the city, the carrier’s figures show. When combined with Emirates, the networks offer access to more than 214 unique destinations in over 100 countries with over 4,600 connection opportunities through Dubai.
flydubai operates a fleet of 98 Boeing 737 aircraft and will launch dedicated freighter services from October 1 across the same network, a recent company announcement indicated. The freighters will support specialized cargo including pharmaceuticals, perishables and aerospace components with initial flights targeting high-demand sectors. The addition complements belly-hold cargo on passenger flights and extends the airline’s role in regional trade facilitation.
