The Emirates News Agency reported that the agreement establishes effective communication channels for the business sector while enhancing economic, trade and investment relations between Ras Al Khaimah and Türkiye. It specifically targets collaboration among large companies, startups and small and medium-sized enterprises. Mohamed Mosbbeh Al Nuaimi, chairman of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, described the pact as a strategic move given the confederation’s status as one of Türkiye’s leading independent nongovernmental economic organisations.
TÜRKONFED represents more than 31 sub-federations, over 300 associations and more than 100,000 companies ranging from major corporations in various industries to small and medium-sized enterprises across the country, a chamber assessment found. Al Nuaimi signed the document on behalf of the chamber while Süleyman Sönmez, president of TÜRKONFED, signed for the Turkish side. The ceremony included Yaser Abdullah Al Ahmed, chief government and corporate relations officer at Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone, and Arda Batu, secretary-general and board member of TÜRKONFED.
Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone data shows the emirate already hosts more than 470 Turkish-owned companies operating in consultancy, general trading, e-commerce, building materials, chemicals and manufacturing. The new partnership is expected to broaden these connections by linking RAK businesses directly to TÜRKONFED’s extensive network spanning Türkiye’s 81 provinces. Both sides anticipate growth in joint ventures, market access and knowledge sharing through the agreement.
Bilateral non-oil trade between the UAE and Türkiye exceeded $45.2 billion in 2025, a 15.5 percent increase from the prior year and nearly triple the 2022 level, according to UAE government figures. This momentum has heightened interest among Turkish enterprises in expanding into the UAE, where Ras Al Khaimah offers streamlined regulations, competitive costs and strategic infrastructure. The chamber’s initiative aligns with the emirate’s ongoing push to attract foreign investment and diversify its international partnerships.
Ras Al Khaimah maintains a gross domestic product of approximately $12 billion and hosts more than 50,000 businesses from over 100 countries across more than 50 economic fields, according to official emirate figures. Manufacturing accounts for about 27 percent of GDP, the largest single segment, while tourism and logistics continue to register strong growth. The diverse economy provides a robust foundation for the expanded Turkish cooperation outlined in the TÜRKONFED agreement.
