Tax Star Closes $1.75 Million Seed Round | AI-Generated Image

Tax Star said in a statement that the $1.75 million seed round closed with backing from angel investors and would be directed toward go-to-market efforts, product development and measures to simplify compliance for users. The company described the capital as essential to its growth as an artificial intelligence-powered corporate tax software platform in the UAE. Tax Star added that the funds would support expansion into other GCC markets as well as Europe.

According to the company’s announcement, pre-approval as an accredited service provider by the UAE Ministry of Finance validates its technical readiness for the electronic invoicing system. Tax Star has achieved native integrations with Xero and QuickBooks, positioning it as the only such provider listed on those application marketplaces. The platform also connects with Zoho, Odoo and Naqood to accommodate varied accounting environments used by small and medium-sized businesses.

The Ministry of Finance publishes a periodically updated list of pre-approved eInvoicing Service Providers under Article 15 of Ministerial Decision No. 64 of 2025. The ministry’s guidance indicates that final accreditation follows further requirements outlined in Article 16 of the decision. This list serves as a reference for businesses selecting partners to meet the new invoicing obligations.

Voluntary adoption of the UAE e-invoicing system begins on July 1, 2026, according to the Ministry of Finance. Mandatory participation will follow in phases for businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or higher. The framework routes invoices through accredited providers for validation, transmission between parties and direct reporting of tax data to the Federal Tax Authority.

Tax Star noted in the statement that its platform automates mapping to the PINT AE format, performs invoice validation, staging and enrichment, manages errors and supports multi-organization batch uploads. The company highlighted client testimonials reporting up to 75 percent time savings and the ability to handle 50 percent more clients after implementation. These capabilities extend to Saudi Zakat automation in addition to core UAE corporate tax functions.

The announcement indicated that the pre-approved status differentiates Tax Star in a market preparing for heightened demand once the mandate takes effect. Tax Star maintains that its solutions reduce manual compliance burdens while enabling businesses to scale operations. The company continues to update resources on regulatory deadlines and penalty structures through its online channels.
