The agreement was signed in Miami by Dr. Rashid Khalfan Al Nuaimi, director-general of the Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Alfred Sanchez, president and chief executive of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. Mohammed Abdulla Al Ahbabi, UAE consul general in Miami, and Dr. Carel Richter, advisor for international relations in the Office of the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, witnessed the ceremony. The Emirates News Agency reported that the letter of intent establishes a framework for closer economic cooperation between business communities in the UAE emirate and South Florida.

Cooperation under the pact will encompass sharing market intelligence and investment data, arranging reciprocal business delegations and enabling direct meetings between companies from both sides. These activities are intended to help enterprises identify partnership prospects and expand into new markets. The Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry indicated that the accord will support the development of concrete commercial links in sectors of shared interest.

This latest step builds upon a sister-city memorandum of understanding concluded in 2025 between Ras Al Khaimah and the City of Miami that already covers areas such as tourism, sustainable development and technology exchange. The Emirates News Agency noted that the new letter of intent extends those earlier commitments by focusing specifically on private-sector trade and investment flows. Officials from both chambers view the arrangement as a natural progression that leverages the governmental foundation laid the previous year.

The Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry reported AED771.5 million in fresh investment capital across 967 newly registered companies in the first half of 2026, drawing participants from 68 nationalities and projecting 2,449 new jobs. Those figures, cited in a CBRE Middle East review of the emirate’s real-estate market, illustrate the pace at which external capital continues to enter the jurisdiction. Such momentum provides a receptive environment for the enhanced Miami ties now being formalised.

United States Trade Representative data places bilateral goods-and-services trade between the United States and the UAE at an estimated $55.4 billion in 2025, reflecting a 16 percent increase from the prior year. Within that total, Florida alone exported goods worth $2.6 billion to the UAE in 2025, supporting roughly 19,000 jobs in the state according to figures compiled by the UAE Embassy in Washington. The Florida-UAE trade surplus reached $2.2 billion that year, underscoring the scale of existing commercial interchange that the new chamber-level pact seeks to enlarge.

The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce has long positioned the city as a gateway for Latin American and Caribbean commerce, while Ras Al Khaimah continues to develop its industrial, tourism and logistics capabilities. Both organisations expect the letter of intent to facilitate targeted exchanges that match Miami’s service strengths with Ras Al Khaimah’s manufacturing and investment offerings. Further working groups are expected to be formed in the coming months to translate the agreement into specific initiatives.
