The Saudi company is building on its reported SAR 150 million in materials supplied, with plans for a smart catalogue, enhanced shipment tracking and a wider network of industry participants.
Saudi construction technology company Fitting is expanding its procurement platform after a $1.1 million funding round, with plans for enhanced shipment tracking, artificial intelligence integration and a smart construction materials catalogue. The next phase combines product development with a wider Saudi presence and new outreach to manufacturers, suppliers and contractors.
The company announced its second seed round on August 9, backed by a strategic investor active in building materials, contracting and property development. Fitting said the capital would support expansion across key Saudi markets, its technology infrastructure and operational capacity, alongside the development of local talent.
Since then, the company has outlined its product plans and broadened its industry communications. These developments put the focus on a specific part of Saudi Arabia’s construction economy: the transactions connecting a project’s material requirements with the businesses that manufacture, distribute and deliver those materials.
The supply chain behind Saudi development
Saudi Arabia’s development programme provides a broad setting for construction technology businesses. Turner & Townsend’s 2026 Middle East assessment identifies infrastructure, tourism, entertainment and digital investment as important sources of construction activity in the Kingdom and the wider region.
Within Saudi Arabia, the consultancy highlights programmes including Diriyah, Qiddiya, Oxagon and King Salman International Airport. It also identifies Expo 2030 Riyadh and the 2034 FIFA World Cup as milestones supporting investment in hospitality, transport and public spaces.
These programmes give the procurement story a concrete setting. A construction project involves purchases across successive stages, from initial works through to the installation of building systems and finishing materials. Digital procurement sits within that sequence, recording requests, offers and orders as they pass between the organisations responsible for each stage.
Fitting’s disclosed customer categories include developers, contractors and engineering firms. Its expansion is therefore part of the business activity surrounding construction delivery, with materials transactions providing the link between project requirements and the supplier base.
From a 2024 launch to materials trading
According to its official company history, Fitting launched in 2024 after consultations with participants in the building materials market. The company says this work included interviews with more than 500 retailers, consultations with 300 contractors and engagement with 200 major suppliers.
Its current team page identifies Mohammed Al-Mobayed as co-founder and managing director, and Abdulaziz Al-Mobayed as founder and chief executive. The initial research covered both the companies placing orders and those supplying them, a distinction reflected in the platform’s present focus on buyers and sellers.
In an August interview with EntArabi, Mohammed Al-Mobayed said the value of materials facilitated through Fitting had exceeded SAR 150 million across more than 70 major Saudi projects. He reported more than 823 organisations using the platform, alongside over 200 approved suppliers and more than 50 strategic partnerships.
The SAR 150 million figure represents the company’s reported materials transaction volume. It places the funding announcement alongside an operating account of the business, covering the goods supplied and the organisations participating in procurement.
Fitting’s current website also distinguishes between contractors, developers, and wholesale and retail traders on the buying side, with a separate route for suppliers. That structure includes businesses purchasing materials for resale as well as those buying for construction work. The distinction helps explain the range of participants in its expansion: a materials showroom and a developer occupy different positions in the same supply chain, while a manufacturer or importer participates from the supply side.
Technology development alongside Saudi talent
The same August interview also set out a workforce dimension to the expansion. Al-Mobayed said Fitting had created more than 30 employment opportunities and provided over 20 training opportunities for students and graduates from Saudi universities.
Those figures connect the company’s development with the people required to run a procurement business, encompassing technology and operational work. The funding announcement separately identified Saudi talent development as one of the areas supported by the new capital.
A September 8 update reported by EntArabi then described the next product programme: improved shipment tracking, further AI integration and a smart construction materials catalogue. These are planned additions to a workflow covering quotation requests, offer comparisons, procurement, invoices and payments.
The catalogue and tracking work concern different points in a purchase. The first relates to the materials being sourced; the second follows their movement. Together, they indicate where Fitting intends to direct product development as it builds its operations in the Kingdom.
Reaching manufacturers and suppliers in four languages
Fitting’s September programme also included new industry communications. The company launched Fitting You channels in Arabic, English, Chinese and Urdu, alongside Fitting Us, a channel for specialised content and discussion about construction materials and supply chains.
The communications programme addresses several groups involved in materials trading, including contractors, developers, manufacturers and importers. It accompanies the product work with an effort to bring more industry participants into the company’s network.
That effort continued in a September 29 message to suppliers and manufacturers, inviting them to receive quotation requests from developers and contractors through the platform. The message focused on managing offers, updating prices and handling purchasing approvals digitally.
Fitting’s announced next phase now combines the planned catalogue and tracking developments with team building and expansion across Saudi markets. Supplier recruitment is proceeding alongside that work, extending the network of businesses participating in the platform’s materials transactions.
