The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed two agreements in Athens that grant its member businesses access to a network of over 140,000 Greek companies through partnerships with local Greek organisations. The accords were concluded on the sidelines of the UAE-Greece Strategic Forum attended by high-level delegations from both countries this week. They focus on promoting direct business contacts, information sharing and collaborative events to drive trade and investment, the chamber stated.

According to participants, one memorandum was signed between the Abu Dhabi Chamber and Enterprise Greece while the second involved the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry. These institutional linkages are intended to create an organised framework for enhancing connectivity between the private sectors of the UAE and Greece. Dr. Ali Saeed bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, first vice chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, represented the emirate in both signings alongside Greek counterparts.

The broader forum resulted in 18 memoranda of understanding, agreements and commercial partnerships valued at more than €12.75 billion across multiple high-growth sectors. The Abu Dhabi Media Office indicated that the deals encompassed areas such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, logistics, healthcare and food security. The UAE further declared plans for an additional €15 billion in investments in Greece via a joint initiative.

Bilateral non-oil trade reached $606.3 million in 2025 and $297.8 million in the first half of 2026, data presented during the forum showed. The chamber agreements are seen as a means to accelerate this momentum by lowering barriers for smaller enterprises seeking cross-border opportunities. Such initiatives align with the two countries’ shared interest in diversifying economic ties beyond traditional sectors.

The Abu Dhabi Chamber maintains an international network of 87 agreements spanning 47 countries that have facilitated numerous business delegations in recent years. Its membership has grown to approximately 174,000 companies, reflecting strong domestic business confidence that bolsters its global outreach efforts. This scale enables the chamber to offer substantial matchmaking potential in partnerships like those formed in Athens.

More than 200 Greek companies currently operate in the UAE, undertaking over 100 investment projects with capital ranging from €400 million to €700 million, according to Greece’s Annual Economic Report for the UAE. Key areas of Greek involvement include construction, shipping, food and beverages, and technology. The new agreements are positioned to encourage even greater reciprocity in investment flows between the two nations.
