These meetings took place as the 9th World Investment Forum, organized by UN Trade and Development, convened more than 7000 participants in Doha, a UNCTAD statement said. A UNCTAD Global Investment Trends Monitor released at the event reported that global foreign direct investment reached 1.6 trillion dollars in 2025 although more than 80 percent flowed to just 20 economies. The forum produced the Doha Global Investment Action Framework with over 20 outcomes aimed at directing capital to developing countries. The Qatar Chamber’s engagements reflect the private sector’s role in such multilateral platforms.
