ADNOC Distribution said in a statement on August 5 that it achieved a record net profit of $568 million in the first half of 2026, marking a 58.5 percent rise from $358 million in the comparable 2025 period. The company reported EBITDA of $786 million, up 38.8 percent, while underlying EBITDA climbed 13.9 percent to $603 million and gross profit advanced 28.9 percent to $1.158 billion. These figures reflect resilient retail and commercial demand together with inventory gains that supplemented core operational improvements across the fuel retailer’s diversified portfolio.
The statement detailed record fuel volumes of 7.75 billion litres during the period, achieved as the network grew 11 percent year-on-year to 1,045 service stations spanning the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. ADNOC Distribution attributed the performance to sustained customer demand and continued infrastructure investment that has steadily enlarged its physical footprint since the start of the current strategy cycle. Higher-margin non-fuel retail activities provided additional support, with the segment’s gross profit rising 12 percent on increased footfall, transaction volumes and an expanded convenience offering.
The company highlighted progress in its electric vehicle infrastructure, including the launch of the region’s largest EV mega-hub on the E11 highway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Its E2GO charging network expanded 35 percent year-on-year, energy sold more than doubled, and vehicles charged under the programme covered 27.4 million low-emission kilometres, representing a twofold increase from the prior first-half period. These developments form part of a broader shift toward future-focused mobility services that the company has pursued in parallel with its traditional fuel business.
Eng. Bader Saeed Al Lamki, chief executive officer of ADNOC Distribution, said in the statement, “Despite a dynamic macroeconomic environment, ADNOC Distribution delivered another record performance in the first half of 2026, demonstrating the resilience of our diversified business model and the strength of our growth strategy.” Al Lamki noted that the company is scaling higher-margin opportunities in non-fuel retail while continuing to strengthen its core fuel business, with further emphasis on innovation, digital revenue streams and international expansion. The executive added that the focus remains on delivering exceptional customer experiences and creating sustainable shareholder value.
ADNOC Distribution outlined several strategic initiatives that advanced during the period, including a partnership with Americana Restaurants International to introduce up to 200 quick-service restaurants across its network and the launch of Engage by ADNOC, the UAE’s first full-funnel retail media network operated by a mobility retailer. The ADNOC Rewards mobile application approached 2.8 million members, supporting higher customer frequency through data-driven engagement tools backed by the ADNOC Group’s artificial intelligence programme. More than 20 AI initiatives are under way across customer engagement and operational areas, according to the statement.
The company entered a definitive agreement in July for the proposed acquisition of Shell’s downstream business in South Africa at an implied enterprise value of $1 billion, subject to regulatory approvals, with completion anticipated in 2027. ADNOC Distribution expects the transaction to deliver a 6 percent earnings-per-share uplift in the first full year of ownership while accelerating its ambition to become a leading global mobility retailer. The move represents a significant milestone in the international component of its 2024-2028 strategy.
Directors approved a second-quarter dividend of 5.14 fils per share, amounting to $175 million and payable on September 1, in line with the established policy of distributing $700 million annually or at least 75 percent of net profit, whichever is higher. The payout will bring the total dividends distributed since the company’s 2017 initial public offering to an estimated $5.8 billion. Key dates for the distribution include an ex-dividend date of August 13 and a record date of August 14.
