The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange Group said in a statement that at the end of June 2026 its market capitalisation had reached Dh2.8 trillion, backed by a trading value of Dh171 billion in the first half of the year. Total trading volume increased 3.7 percent year on year to 50.3 billion shares, with average daily volume rising 9 percent to 423 million, while nearly 3.3 million individual trades were executed for a 12 percent gain. Market makers lifted their share of total traded value by three percentage points to 15 percent. This performance follows the exchange’s 2025 results, when market capitalisation climbed to 3.13 trillion dirhams by year-end according to the ADX’s January 2026 report.

Institutional investors accounted for 78 percent of total trading value with net positive inflows amounting to Dh1.4 billion, a 13.7 percent year-on-year increase, the ADX Group reported. International participants contributed 48 percent of trading value while the share from UAE nationals rose six percentage points to 52 percent. More than 30,000 new investors were onboarded, a 7.1 percent rise from the prior year with 77 percent coming from abroad, and total dividends distributed reached Dh49.9 billion during the period.

Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi, group chief executive officer of the ADX Group, said in the announcement, “The ADX’s focus remains on building a deeper, more liquid, and more internationally connected market that supports Abu Dhabi’s role as an open, leading, and preferred global economy.” He added that during the first half the platform expanded market access, strengthened infrastructure and introduced innovations so local and international investors could participate more efficiently. Alnuaimi noted that the results reflect an agile platform designed for resilience, sustainable growth and long-term value creation.

The ADX Group outlined several infrastructure upgrades carried out in the period, including completion of the Core Platform Upgrade, establishment of AD Clear and AD CSD as new subsidiaries, and integration of hybrid cloud capabilities. Resilience measures such as round-the-clock operational readiness, revised circuit breaker floors and updated short-selling protocols helped the exchange maintain stability amid regional geopolitical uncertainty. These developments allowed uninterrupted market functioning and settlement integrity even under stress, the statement indicated.

Global connectivity advanced on several fronts as HSBC became the first foreign General Clearing Member to join alongside First Abu Dhabi Bank while Morgan Stanley entered as the first international remote trading participant, according to the ADX Group. Roadshows took place in London and Hong Kong, a letter of intent was signed with Borsa Italiana, the Amman Stock Exchange was integrated into the Tabadul hub, and ADIB Securities became the first UAE bank to join that network. Four new listings were welcomed, including two dual-listed exchange-traded funds from the New York Stock Exchange, and successful rights issues were completed for Sharjah Islamic Bank and Annan Investment Holding.

The exchange partnered with FINTECH.TV to open the first international financial news studio located inside a MENA-region stock exchange. A first-of-its-kind “Digital Loans against Investments” solution was introduced with Wio Bank to broaden access, and an initiative with Zoud, the National Financial Wellbeing and Sustainability body, was launched to promote investment education. The Al Ramz Trading Competition ran alongside ADX Managed Services, through which two market participants integrated the trading platform solution, the announcement added.
