Emirates said in a statement that the new seat debuts on its newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft and combines advanced engineering with enhanced passenger control to set a new standard in the cabin segment. The electrically operated privacy screen extends fully from base to top between every seat in a first for worldwide Premium Economy offerings, allowing travellers to customise their space for work, meals or rest. Installed in a dedicated 28-seat cabin arranged in a 2-3-2 layout, the product forms part of the airline’s continuing drive to differentiate its service on long-haul routes.

The privacy divider operates through the seat’s integrated controls so passengers can raise, lower or lock it at preferred heights without disturbing neighbours, according to the carrier’s description. This feature pairs with the seat’s fully electric mechanism, which includes a passenger control unit offering preset positions such as lounge and meal modes for added convenience during flights. The design ensures that when the seat reclines into its cradle position it remains within its own footprint and does not encroach on the row behind.

Each seat provides a width of 20 inches and pitch reaching up to 39 inches on the A350, delivering substantial personal room that aligns with growing demand for upgraded economy experiences on international journeys. Emirates data places the configuration as a deliberate choice to balance capacity with comfort in the mid-cabin product that has earned industry recognition since its introduction. The airline’s fleet renewal programme will see the seat appear across incoming aircraft as deliveries continue through the decade.

Additional elements include an adjustable headrest developed in partnership with Safran Seats along with wireless charging pads and a 13.3-inch 4K resolution screen for in-flight entertainment, the statement noted. Tray tables incorporate a dedicated holder for personal devices to serve as a secondary display when required. Such specifications reflect the carrier’s assessment that passengers seek seamless connectivity and ergonomic support on extended sectors.

The development arrives as Emirates operates one of the largest wide-body fleets in global aviation with Premium Economy already available across much of its network on Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft. Industry reports indicate premium leisure and business travel segments have expanded steadily in the Middle East market, supporting the investment in differentiated seating options. All 65 Airbus A350-900s on order for the airline are expected to incorporate the updated cabin according to publicly available fleet plans.

Showcasing the seat at the Arabian Travel Market will allow partners and customers to view the physical product ahead of its entry into commercial service on selected routes, Emirates indicated. The initiative forms part of the airline’s broader participation in major travel industry gatherings where it presents latest advancements to stakeholders. Further details on initial deployment routes and exact timelines remain subject to operational planning.
