Qatar News Agency reported that the QSE index increased by 62.93 points from the previous session’s close at the start of Wednesday’s trading to reach 8,915 points. The rise was supported by positive performances in six of the seven sectors tracked by the exchange. QSE data attributed the gains to the Transportation sector which rose 1.72 percent, Telecoms up 1.38 percent, Consumer Goods and Services higher by 1.17 percent, Banks and Financial Services ahead 0.51 percent, Industrials increasing 0.18 percent and Insurance gaining 0.18 percent while Real Estate declined 1.18 percent.

According to the Qatar News Agency, trading activity by 10:00 a.m. reached QR 73.082 million with 4,763 transactions involving 41.929 million shares. The agency’s update provided the early session snapshot as the market continued its recent movements. A QNB report covered by Gulf Times on October 24 noted that the index had lost 199.07 points or 2.3 percent the prior week to close at 8,611.10 with 14 of 54 companies ending higher.

The QNB report published October 24 indicated market capitalisation decreased by 1.7 percent to QR526.4bn. Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Co climbed 7.3 percent that week to lead gainers while National Leasing dropped 9.6 percent as the worst performer. Qatar Islamic Bank, Commercial Bank of Qatar and Nakilat were the main contributors to the weekly index decline the report added.

Countryeconomy.com data shows the index had recovered to close at 9,150.83 on October 27 up 3.37 percent for that day. The site’s historical prices indicate a volatile October with several days of declines earlier in the month. The opening on October 28 extends the mixed performance seen throughout the period.

Financial analyst Youssef Bouhaliqa told Qatar News Agency that the QSE index remains in the 8,600-point zone describing it as a critical threshold for stability. In remarks carried by The Peninsula Qatar Bouhaliqa said the 8,760 to 8,810 point range is an initial resistance zone the market may test if rebound continues and liquidity improves. He added that confirming any new trend requires monitoring daily closes trading volumes and breadth of participation.

A separate Gulf Times article on October 23 quoted Bouhaliqa as saying the coming sessions will be crucial to determine if the rebound is the start of gradual recovery or a temporary move in a broader corrective trend. The analyst’s comments provide context for the latest opening move amid ongoing market assessment.
