Emarat and G42 announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding to explore artificial intelligence cybersecurity and advanced digital technologies that would underpin the petroleum company’s next transformation phase. The agreement signed on October 26 2026 covers AI uses in energy digital security and sovereignty plus concepts for future service stations according to a press release distributed on Zawya. Ahmad Abdulla Al Ahli chief people and corporate support officer at Emarat joined Ali Al Amine chief commercial officer at G42 International for the formal signing in Dubai.
Al Ahli said the memorandum matches technology adoption to business value and readiness amid evolving sector expectations. “This MoU reflects how Emarat is approaching the next phase of its transformation, by aligning technology adoption with long-term business value, operational readiness and the changing expectations of the energy and mobility sector,” he said in the statement. The Emarat officer added that working with G42 would let the company test advanced technologies for better decisions stronger resilience and a solid platform for expansion while the tie-up supports innovation across the energy chain through digital tools secure infrastructure and improved customer experiences.
Ali Al Amine welcomed the chance to pair G42 expertise with the operational knowledge of a long-standing UAE energy player. “We are pleased to collaborate with Emarat on exploring opportunities that bring together advanced AI, cloud and digital capabilities with one of the UAE’s most established energy companies,” he stated. Al Amine explained that the combination of skills would reveal practical spots where AI and digital solutions could advance transformation in the sector.
According to its official history Emarat began in 1981 as a government-backed fuel services company that grew into an integrated energy provider with networks of service stations terminalling facilities and logistics across Dubai and the northern emirates. The firm supplies aviation and commercial fuels liquefied petroleum gas and operates convenience stores known for quality and hospitality while maintaining the largest natural gas transmission system in the northern emirates that stretches more than 350 kilometres. Emarat has increasingly emphasised sustainability innovation and electric vehicle charging as part of national green mobility targets.
This latest step extends G42’s pattern of embedding artificial intelligence in UAE energy operations. Reuters reported in 2024 that ADNOC would introduce agentic AI with G42 Microsoft and AIQ allowing systems to autonomously spot operational gains speed seismic work and improve forecast accuracy by up to 90 percent. The technology group has drawn a 1.5 billion dollar investment from Microsoft to accelerate the UAE shift toward a diversified technology-led economy.
Industry data highlight the expanding role of such technologies. A Grand View Research assessment projects the UAE AI in energy market to expand at a 10.2 percent compound annual growth rate from 2026 reaching 115.8 million dollars by 2033 after standing at 51.6 million dollars in 2025. The memorandum coincides with national projects that pair renewable generation battery storage and dedicated power plants to meet surging electricity needs from data centres and AI infrastructure.
