The Deanship of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies at Applied Science Private University reported that the institution has generated 1,726 papers indexed in Scopus since the start of 2025, outpacing the next Jordanian private university by 483 publications. This output has established ASU as the leading private university nationally for research publications in the database, a position reinforced by its emphasis on alignment with labor market demands and international benchmarks. The deanship has supported this growth through transparent promotion regulations that incorporate interdisciplinary work, mobility grants and collaboration with institutions ranked in the top 500 globally by QS, Shanghai and Times Higher Education metrics.

Strategies implemented by the university include financial incentives for faculty publications, assistance with journal selection and translation support that have fostered a competitive yet collaborative environment among academics. According to earlier profiles of the institution’s approach, its leadership shifted research from individual efforts to institutional priorities focused on national needs and measurable impact. These steps have enabled ASU to increase international co-authorship while directing rewards toward outputs that elevate the university’s global standing.

A SciVal analysis covering 2020 to October 2025, as cited in Jordanian reporting, placed ASU at the forefront among private universities for international academic partnerships and cooperation with government entities. Eleven of its researchers entered the top 2 percent of scientists worldwide, and the university holds 11 registered patents that underscore its innovation focus. Such metrics coincide with ASU’s expansion to 12 faculties offering 59 specializations, including 15 graduate programs and a higher diploma track.

Times Higher Education data for 2025 ranked the university between 501 and 600 globally, making it the highest-placed Jordanian institution in that table, while the QS World University Rankings 2026 positioned it at 791-800. The AD Scientific Index for 2026 listed ASU first among Jordanian private universities and 17th across the Arab region based on research productivity, citations and impact. These standings reflect sustained investment in research infrastructure since the university’s establishment in 1991 under the Arab International Company for Education and Investment.

Accreditations secured by ASU programs have bolstered its research ecosystem, with engineering and computer science holding ABET recognition, pharmacy accredited by ACPE and nursing earning both ACPE and HCÉRES status from French authorities. The College of Law has followed suit, and the business faculty has attained AACSB eligibility, according to university records. This external validation has helped attract faculty from leading global universities and supported employability rates that reach 80 percent in fields such as pharmacy, information technology and nursing.

Nature Index figures for the 12 months through April 2026 recorded ASU’s contribution to 15 articles with a Share of 1.46, ranking it fourth overall in Jordan, with particular strength in health sciences that accounted for seven papers. The university’s deanship continues to promote technology transfer, intellectual property guidance and exhibitions linking research outcomes to industry investors and funding bodies. These initiatives form part of a broader framework that evaluates faculty across teaching, research and community engagement while prioritising practice-oriented solutions to societal challenges.
